Two items of business tonight before bed:

• Remember that the s o u n d w a v e local fest bookmarks Labor Day weekend this Sunday, September 2nd at the Gables Pub. Catch Justin Gracer and the rest of Machete above all: theirs are performances not to be missed. [Review of Machete show at the Fandango Mob Soirée last weekend is forthcoming, I promise. Bear with me while my life is consumed with the jobhunt.] Scroll down one entry for detailed information.

Yes! You have a date with PopLife every weekend for the next three weeks! As if you didn't know already. Tsk.

This Saturday, September 1, is the return of eM19, or the "experimental electronic focus night." DJs Miok and Sindri to perform. Also performing live will be Council of the Sun. Doors open at 10:30 pm for a special early-bird viewing of artwork by Dustin Orlando.

Next Saturday, September 8, get dolled up for the Fashionista CD release party -- again, the early bird catches the worm, and perhaps a copy of their début album, Neptune King of the Sea. Also listening parties for Jamiroquai and JJ72.

Ooh ooh ooh this is gonna be a HOT one! Your Satur-date gets moved up a day on Friday, September 14, just in time for The Hefty Records Immediate Action U.S. Tour: Miami. Performances by Slicker, Telefon Tel Aviv, Beneath Autumn Sky, Auction Aire, and Sindri. 11 pm. $8 cover. 18+. Do not miss this. I repeat: do not miss this.

Check out the PopLife website for further details. Have a happy weekend+1 of no labor!
